There’s something special about Milan during Fashion Week. The city has a completely different energy. Shops stay open late, restaurants are full, photographers and paparazzi gather outside the shows, and the streets become almost as interesting as the runways.

One of my favorite parts is arriving at a show and seeing what everyone is wearing. You can start to recognize the identity of the fashion house before you even walk inside, but interpreted in so many different ways. Some people fully embrace the designer’s world, while others take one element and make it completely their own.
For Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027, I attended Etro and Genny—two shows with very different moods and two very different looks for me.
Etro Spring/Summer 2027: Warm Tones and Movement
The setting at Etro immediately pulled you into the collection. Dried reeds and golden grasses surrounded the runway, creating this warm, hazy environment.

The collection, called Halo, had an almost sun-faded quality to it. Paisley, chiffon, fringe, crochet, suede and denim all appeared throughout the show, with the palette moving from soft neutrals into warmer shades, blues and greens, and finally deeper tones.
What I loved most was seeing how everything moved. The chiffon, asymmetric shapes and fringe really came alive as the models walked through the reeds.
For Etro, I started with one of the house’s tops, then styled the rest of the look with pieces from my own wardrobe and Fiorella Crystal Gold.
Gold is one of my favorite ways to finish a warmer palette. It almost works like a neutral, but adds just enough shine.
Genny Spring/Summer 2027: Blue, Silver and a Very Special Pair of Shoes

This was my second year attending the Genny show, and I’ve really come to love their team. I also had the chance to meet designer Sara Cavazza Facchini and was excited to choose one of Genny’s blue dresses to wear to the show.
There was only one problem: I hadn’t brought silver shoes to Italy.
I was already visiting our factory in Florence, so I asked if they could make me a pair of Rhea Silver in time for the show. They made them in one day—a brand-new pair straight from the factory, just in time for Milan. What a privilege.
The blue also ended up fitting beautifully into the world of the collection. The Queen of the Desert moved through cobalt and pale blues, sand and warmer desert shades, with fluid fabrics, draping, texture and plenty of movement.
Silver felt like the natural choice with the dress. Seeing this look next to what I wore to Etro also reminded me why I reach for metallic shoes so often: gold works beautifully with warmer tones, while silver does the same with cooler colors.

What Caught My Eye for Spring/Summer 2027
After the shows, a few things stayed with me.
Color, but not just one color. What interested me more were the combinations. Etro moved through an entire spectrum over the course of the show, while some of the strongest moments at Genny came from saturated blues against sand and softer shades.
Movement. Chiffon, fringe, draping and asymmetric shapes appeared again and again. These are pieces that look completely different once someone is actually walking in them.
Texture that still feels light. Crochet, suede, sheer fabrics, denim, crystals and embroidery brought a lot of detail without feeling too heavy for spring and summer.
And maybe my favorite part: more personality.
That wasn’t only happening on the runway. It was everywhere outside the shows too.
Milan Fashion Week Street Style
The street style during Milan Fashion Week is almost a show of its own.
You see people wearing pieces from the house they’re about to see, vintage mixed with new collections, incredible accessories and completely different interpretations of the same brand.
That’s part of what makes the week so much fun. A designer creates a world, and then you get to watch hundreds of people make a small part of that world their own.
Etro and Genny gave me two completely different experiences of Spring/Summer 2027—from the atmosphere of the shows to the clothes, the color and, of course, the shoes.
I loved getting dressed for both.
